Borrow from the boys. That’s what fashion mags — and just about every rom-com we can think of — tell you to do. But wearing a white oxford shirt without much else when you’re, say, going to the office, might raise a few eyebrows. So instead of snagging his button up, try grabbing for one of these bags instead. We think they’re perfect for gifting your dad or any guy in your life, but we won’t tell if you can’t resist and snag one for yourself.
Rebecca Minkoff’s men’s spinoff label, Ben Minkoff, has flown under the radar since its inception, but guys in the know (and every Minkette’s boyfriend) come to the label for bags inspired by military-issue goods. The Nikki messenger is one of the label’s most popular models, but we know a fair amount of ladies who would gladly tote this schoolboy-inspired satchel as an everyday bag. It’s got room for everyday essentials along with pockets inside and out. And we’re just going to say it: “Strong enough for a man, made for a …” Well, you know how the saying goes!

Coach hasn’t been known for doing many collabs in its woman’s line, but as for the guys, the American label has been collab-happy for the last few seasons. Krink, the street artist, has painted Coach classics with his signature dripping paint and before him, über-popular artist Hugo Guiness scribbled a few sketches onto wallets, totes and tech accessories. This year, Coach has partnered with French brand Saint James (Picasso was a fan) for a capsule collection of nautical-inspired necessities. We think the Breton stripes look best on the oversized tote, which will hold everything from his beach essentials to work necessities. It’s being marketed to the guys, but nobody will bat an eye if this is swinging from your shoulder in sunny St. Tropez or your daily commute.

Cool girls in L.A. know that Clare Vivier is the brand to go to for cute clutches, but the brand has just introduced their very first guy’s bag: the Adam’s Duffle. It’s made from sturdy canvas, but it’ll hold its shape thanks to a bottom crafted from Clare Vivier’s signature leather. It’s available in three different colors, but we love the all-American red, white and blue, especially when it’s monogrammed. And while monogramming your guy’s initials on his bag might make it a little more difficult to use for your everyday gym needs (or weekend essentials), think of it as a grown-up varsity jacket and show off those initials for the world to see.
