Get in Line: Our Favorite Black and White Striped Picks

Orange is the New Black showed us all that black and white stripes behind bars have gone the way of Jailhouse Rock. So without the incarceration connotation, there’s no reason not to get in on the graphic stripe trend that the fashion set has embraced this season. Designers such as Marc Jacobs and Diane von Furstenberg have always been enamored with stripes, but even retailers such as Zara and Mango are getting in on the action this summer. If you’re looking for an ultra-flattering way to get in on the trend, try it in a bag or your shoes, but if you’re all about wearing stripes, look for ones that go in diagonals or patterns with varying widths so that they accentuate your curves. Keep these pieces in rotation, too, because long after nautical stripes have sailed their last summer voyage, these bold black-and-white pieces can keep going strong.
