Gorjana’s Latest Charity Collection Aids Girls in Africa

Gorjana Warrior Collection

Gorjana Warrior Collection

Charity bracelets are definitely having a moment. While rubber bracelets may still be plentiful, plenty of brands are designing baubles that help out and look great. Laguna Beach-based Gorjana, who we already love for delicate layering pieces, simple, every day staples and perfect gifts has teamed with local charity With My Own Two Hands, who has committed to building a dormitory facility at Helga Girl’s Rescue Center, a refuge for victims of genital mutilation and child marriage.

Founder Gorjana Riedel chose the charity, because she admired its work and its attitude. WMO2H works to provide clean water, shelter, food and an education to women of the Maasai tribe in Kenya. “[My Own Two Hands’] commitment to helping disadvantaged children; [they] believe that in order to diminish poverty we must start with the children. They are so closely connected to the projects they work with in Africa and you get to see the immediate result of their efforts.”

The two-piece capsule, called the Warrior collection, includes a bracelet and a necklace, both in 18K gold. Priced at $60 for the charm necklace and $65 for the cord bracelet, proceeds from the sale of both pieces will go towards building a dormitory and providing blankets, lockers and other necessities.
