Angelenos are still waiting for their own Band of Outsiders experience (lucky New Yorkers will have a chance to be immersed in the full BoO world when the brand opens its first stateside boutique in SoHo later this year), but we can all celebrate the launch of Band of Outsiders footwear, which debuted with Scott Sternberg’s Resort 2015 collection for his brand. Previously, Band of Outsiders has enlisted Manolo Blahnik to provide shoes for its presentations and runway shows, which never made it onto the sales floor, no matter how great they were (there was, however, a long-running and critically acclaimed collab between the brand and Sperry Top-Sider), but the brand’s Spring 2015 presentation gave us a peek into what the brand could do on its own. The collection is fully developed now for Resort, and fans of the brand will be happy to hear that the shoes, which include flats, booties and wedges, fit right into the Band of Outsiders M.O.
Expected to hit stores in November, each shoe simply reads “This is a Band of Outsiders Shoe” on the interior, a cheeky nod to BoO’s other sub-brands.
The full collection includes wedges with striped designs that recall the label’s beloved bandage skirt, trompe l’eoil sandal slides that feature a faux penny loafer upper and the sure-to-be-a-hit suede and leather booties, which might just sway you away from your beloved Rag & Bone Newburys. Colors remain classic, drawing from classic menswear staples to keep the boy-meet-girl look going strong, but we’re sure that Sternberg has big ideas for the line in the seasons to come.
Prices will range from $295 to $695.
