Angelenos have been lucky enough to snag eye wear from Garrett Leight at the brand’s two SoCal shops — the original retail concept A. Kinney Court in Venice on Abbott Kinney and the brand’s flagship on La Brea — and now, San Francisco shoppers are about to get a shop of their very own. Garrett Leight is expanding to Hayes Street, bringing the area a cool new spot to snag one-of-a-kind specs.

Like the store on La Brea, the new San Francisco shop will span 1,100 square feet and include iPads so that shoppers can browse the entire collection as well as the brand’s quarterly publication, Spectacle. The iPads are also how guests will access Garrett Leight’s Mod Shop, a customization program that lets shoppers design their own sunglasses from the line’s selection of lenses, frames and more. The store will offer the complete line of sunglasses, optical frames and more from the brand as well as complementary lifestyle products.

Leight comes with an eyewear pedigree. As the son of Larry Leight, who established the optical mega-brand Oliver Peoples, he grew up in the eyewear industry. In 2009, Garrett Leight launched A. Kinney Court, a multi-brand boutique on Venice Beach’s trendy Abbott Kinney Boulevard which continues to carry the Garrett Leight line as well as shoes, books and other lifestyle picks. After launching his namesake optics line in 2009, Leight was picked up by Colette in Paris, Bergdorf Goodman, Barneys New York locations and more.

In addition to the San Francisco expansion, Leight plans on opening a store in New York later this year.
