Alexa Chung isn’t the only it-Brit that’s making waves in the street style blogosphere. Actress and singer Pixi Lott has been racking up Instagram likes and catching the attention of street photogs with her daring but still sweet style choices. Like many of her British sisters, she stepped out to make an appearance at Wimbledon in a sporty outfit that blended traditional tennis whites with a few of the season’s hottest trends.
Instead of just wearing a tennis skirt and white polo, Lott remixed a few of those classic shapes to bring them off of the tennis court. Her skirt has the same pleated silhouette that you’ll spot in vintage tennis photos, but the length is just a little longer — there’s no chance of peeping at her bloomers. Her outfit was cool, casual and most of all, paying tribute to Wimbledon without having her look like a ball girl chasing after stray balls on the court. We’re loving the look, and think it’s the perfect warm-weather outfit for casual summer events.
Pleated skirts get a bad rap. Yes, they’re a parochial school staple and yes, they can make you look a little bit juvenile, but elevate the pleated skirt with an unexpected fabric and give it that perfect not-too-short length and it’s a great alternative to a sundress or even a cocktail frock. The 1.State Pleated Organza Skirt ($88) is long enough that it won’t be mistaken for an actual tennis skirt and the airy, light fabric means it’ll keep you cool no matter what spectator sport you choose to attend, be it tennis on the green or people-watching on the boardwalk. As a bonus, this skirt can definitely go from work to play, so consider it an ace in your wardrobe.

1. Not everyone’s as daring as Pixi, who’s baring more than just a hint of skin. The Topshop Scalloped-hem Crop Tank ($20) gives you a cropped shell without showing too much.
2. SPF is your summertime best friend, but help your sunscreen out with the Helen Kalinski Marina Visor ($75). It’ll keep the sun’s rays out of your face and your hair out of your eyes.
3. The mini bag trend isn’t going anywhere, so sling the Tinley Road Sydney Mini Satchel ($59.99) over your shoulder for a hands-free soirée. And as a bonus, it’s mini but not micro, meaning you’ve got room for your essentials and more.
4. There’s nothing sporty about sky-high heels. Instead, grab the flat-out fabulous French Connection Giovanna Oxford ($129).
