Australia-based Shoes of Prey, the online site that allows users to create custom-designed shoes, is bringing its design lab concept to Norstrom San Francisco Centre, giving shoppers a chance to design their own shoes and see the entire breadth of the line’s offerings in person. And while we’ll admit to a few instances of pinot grigio-fueled design sessions ourselves, seeing the different shoes in person might just be the thing to have us commit to a pair of custom sky-high platforms.

Nordstrom San Francisco centre is currently getting outfitted with a Shoes of Prey design studio, which will showcase all of the colors, materials and styles that are available for customization online — including the line’s collab with superstar stylist and Fashion Trends Daily fave Janie Bryant. Previously, budding designers could only see virtual mock ups of their creations online, but the design lab will allow browsers to touch and feel the different fabrics and see just how vertiginous the shoes are before sitting down to create the shoes of their dreams. The design lab will be set up with multiple iPads, allowing designers to sit down and create their shows on their own or under the guidance of expert shoe designers (aka Shoes of Prey staffers).

After creating their shoes — flats, heels and more are all available for customization — customers will have to wait four weeks for delivery. Ranging from $129-199, the shoe and the 3D design experience have already gained a huge legion of loyal fans who have created their fantasy shoes for special events and everyday wear alike. Expect the design lab to be open — and filled with eager designers — this March.
