A.L.C.’s Andrea Lieberman knows ’90s fashion. Being responsible for some of the decade’s biggest moments (see: Gwen Stefani’s style evolution and Jennifer Lopez’s plunging Versace gown), she’s well versed in everything from grunge-inflected minimalism to over-the-top Miami sizzle.

But in her own line, Lieberman veers more towards downtown cool than after-dark club beats, and her fans — celebrity or not — stock up on pieces that have a nod to the ’90s without going full-on throwback. For spring 2017, Lieberman focused on easy dressing and shoppers are sure to have plenty to add to their wish lists — especially now that the brand has launched its own e-commerce.

A.L.C.’s biggest sellers, season after season, are knit pieces. And while the line’s known for structured fabrications as well as slouchy, cozy sweaters. Those are present and accounted for in the spring collection, though there are a few standout knits that aren’t your usual pullover. Simple lines and cuts were embellished with open backs, pierced detailing and rows of fringe. There were also low-slung, wide-leg pants that grazed the floor — though we did see that Nike Cortez sneakers were paired with a few key looks.

That ease and high-low ethos let the collection’s key pieces shine. A boho maxi is sure to be spotted on celebs as soon as it hits the racks and a luxe, louche take on the pantsuit seemed to take it to a whole new generation (especially when styled with a barely there bandeau).
