A look from Lovers + Friends debut swim collection for spring 2015
The L.A. girl uniform is usually something along the lines of the perfect denim — skinny, boyfriend, whatever mood you’re in that day is fine — and a slouchy, luxe t-shirt. But now that summer is on the horizon, that uniform is about to change. Swim season is here and that means L.A. ladies are going to be searching for the perfect suit. Los Angeles-based contemporary line Lovers + Friends, who can count Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Reese Witherspoon as fans, is jumping into the world of swim with its very first swimwear collection.
“It felt like the most natural new category to add to Lovers + Friends,” Gerona told WWD. “We wanted the swim collection to be an extension of our main line by including vibrant prints, crochet and lace textiles and sexy bodies for every girl.”
The brand’s debut collection includes 16 pieces that incorporate the brand’s signatures. Styles range from one-pieces and bandeau styles to halter and triangle bikinis. And since L+F is known for prints and color, the pieces will be available in bold colored striped, tropical and python prints. In short, there is sure to be a style and pattern for every girl, whether she’s heading to Coachella and pairing a crocheted bikini with her cutoffs or she’s looking for a Palm Springs-ready maillot that’ll steal all the poolside attention.
The collection is set to arrive on the brand’s own e-commerce website and at fellow L.A. e-tail site Revolve Clothing next month.
