Outfit Inspiration: Jennifer Aniston’s Leggy Midi Skirt

Jennifer Aniston in black is no shocker, but when she steps out onto the red carpet without a spaghetti-strapped (or strapless, let’s give her some credit), bohemian gown, the flashbulb set takes notice. In London, where the actress was promoting her latest film, Horrible Bosses 2, the engaged California girl didn’t stray too far from her signature style, but did mix it up just enough to get her noticed.

The leggy actress paired a midi-length skirt — it’s the length of the season, trust us — with a flouncy white Bouchra Jarrar peplum top. It’s a refreshing change for an actress that’s not known for taking red carpet risks. The outfit plays on the black-and-white graphic trend that’s been popular this season as well as the play on proportion with both the peplum and the midi length. It’s a great outfit that’s not too dressy — this is a photo call after all, not a premiere — but still keeps the actress looking polished and put together. It’s a great work-to-play outfit that you can take cues from if you’re heading to events or parties after you clock out from your 9 to 5.

If you want to play with the new midi length, you don’t have to go out and get an investment-worthy piece. While it’s probably a great piece to splurge on, something such as the Leith High Waist Tube Midi Skirt ($38) will get you the leg-lengthening look at a low-commitment price point.

Wiggle into this skirt and pair it with an untucked oxford for a riff on morning after-chic or add a sleek minimal top for a sleek look. This clean and simple midi is a great staple piece to let some of your more outré pieces shine. Just make sure that you’ve got some heels on, because as lengthening as these skirts can be, wearing a flat shoe will give you a proportion problem you don’t want to tackle.

1. It’s tough to snag a statement making piece such as the Bouchra Jarrar top that Aniston is wearing, but you can steal the show with the statement-making Guess? Strapless Plunge Peplum ($69.50).

2. Like it or not, Jennifer Aniston is still known for her jealousy-inducing hair. If you want to get her signature tousled mane at home, the Drybar Big Hair Don’t Care Holiday Kit ($199) has everything you need in one kit to get sleek or go big.

3. Aniston probably maintains her SoCal glow with regular runs at Runyon Canyon and outdoor yoga sessions with the Malibu waves crashing behind her, but you can fake it with the Dior Diorskin Tan Nude Healthy Glow Powder ($55).

4. Jenn is loyal to Mr. Weitzman — just take a look at a few snaps and you’ll see she’s got his designs in heavy rotation. One of her go-tos is the Stuart Weitzman Nouveau Beaded Leather Pump ($385), which matches everything and is perfect for any outfit, dressy or casual.
