Glamsquad Offers On Call Beauty and Hairstyling for Angelenos

Getting glam just got a whole lot easier. Glamsquad, the New York-based hair and beauty on call app has expanded its services to Los Angeles, giving the City of Angels one more way to get beautiful — all without leaving the comfort of your own home or office. The revolutionary app has already earned a legion of loyal ladies in the Big Apple and we’re sure that L.A. ladies are sure to follow in their well-heeled footsteps.

Giovanni Vaccaro, the Creative Director of Glamsquad, honed his skills at New York’s Frederic Fekkai salon. He established Glamsquad to give women easier access to top-notch stylists, all at their fingertips (or online, where you can book if you don’t have an Apple device). Plus, he trains all of the hair stylists in the proprietary Glamsquad techniques, so each and every client receives the highest caliber service available. Together with Kelli J. Bartlett, the company’s Director of Makeup Artistry, Glamsquad offers hair and makeup services to women who just want to maintain a clean, polished look and can’t get into a salon or for clients who just need something special for a night out or an event.

“Our society thrives on immediacy and instant gratification, and that is why on-demand apps that deliver directly to you in a moment’s notice have gained such powerful popularity over the past several years,” says Vaccaro. “Glamsquad was founded on the premise that getting ready should be a whole lot easier, offering convenience and affordable beauty through an easy-to-navigate app for time starved women who like to feel convenienced, put together and of the moment.”

And of-the-moment looks are another way that Glamsquad sets itself apart. Vaccaro teaches his entire team every look and continuously adds new ones so that they’re on trend with what’s happening in fashion magazines, street style snaps and more. All of the looks are on display in the app, so every client knows exactly what to expect when she orders up a service. Right now, there are nine hair styles and six makeup looks on the menu, but that’s sure to grow with each season, all for under $75 each and with each service clocking in under an hour.

“What distinguishes us from our competitors is our team and training process. That determines an end result you can count on every time you book. Glamsquad hair stylists and makeup artists are all hand-picked and professionally trained by myself and our director of makeup artistry,” adds Vaccaro. “Our team is incredibly talented. They come from top salons and makeup counters and have extensive experience in editorial, commercial, film and event styling. Before putting any stylist or makeup artist on our roster, we complete rigorous background checks to ensure the safety of both our clients and stylists and artists. Stylists are trained to execute the signature Glamsquad looks featured on the
app to help inspire clients and ensure quality is consistent across the board.”

Those looks include everything from easy, natural makeup looks to smoky eyes with full on faux lash looks and everything between. And as for hair, the menu includes sleek and straight styles alongside waves and curls, ensuring that every client will have something that will work with their hair type and the type of occasion that they’re primping for. Glamsquad even brought their signature hair and makeup services to the ladies of the Super Bowl, setting up shop at the NFL House and the NFL Tailgate Party and offering up their services to the NFL wives and execs as well as celebrities that were in Phoenix, Arizona, for the Super Bowl 49 festivities.

Glamsquad is established in New York and gaining a foothold in Los Angeles, but they’re also testing out the waters in Miami, where the glam is mega-watt no matter the occasion or time of day. But even with just a few months here on the West Coast, Vaccaro has already noticed a difference in the way women get glam.

“L.A. ladies love pairing full, lush lashes with a soft, neutral lip. Polished and sophisticated looks with a bold red pout, like the ‘Exec’ aren’t seen nearly as frequently in L.A. as they are in New York City,” he says. “For hair, the ‘Weekender’ is hands-down the most requested style. Beachy, whimsical, wind-blown and tousled. These waves are even more relaxed and tousled in L.A. than they are in NYC.”

And as for those women who think that an on-call beauty service might be too much of an indulgence, Vaccaro offers up some sage wisdom that puts it all in perspective.

In terms of life’s little affordable luxuries, Glamsquad is on par with a Starbucks latte, a SoulCycle class or a Pinkberry,” he says. “Not every woman can afford these little delights on a daily or weekly basis, but you learn how to budget for them. Bringing lunch to work instead of a $15 salad can make up for your weekly Glamsquad.”

And just like you might not head to your favorite blowout bar every week to treat your tresses, Glamsquad might not be something you pull up that often, but we can say that having someone doll you up while you’re at your home or office is an experience that’ll leave you looking great and with plenty of time to think about what you’ll be wearing.

Book your first Glamsquad appointment and enter the code FTDGLAM for a complimentary blow out with any service. The code is good for new users only, so spread the word and get all of your girlfriends ready for a touch of glam for their next occasion.
