Fans of Lipstick Queen (and the brand’s creator, the Lipstick Queen herself, Poppy King) are die-hard fans of lip color, so it takes more than just anything to get them riled up. But leave it to the master, because Poppy has managed to whet our appetites with something new from her brand that’s sure to get even the most die-hard lipstick wearers converting. Vesuvius Liquid Lips is a new formula of lipstick — in liquid form — that delivers deep, saturated pigment while still being comfortable. And like all of Poppy’s creations, there’s a shade for everyone.
“Glamour is about to get volcanic with these high-pigment liquid lipsticks,” said Poppy King.
The collection takes its name from the famed volcano in Naples, and with one swipe you’ll see why Poppy went with such an explosive inspiration. The Vesuvius Liquid Lips formula is so pigmented that it creates an explosion of color on your pout. Even Vesuvian Bare, a shimmering nude shade, provides full coverage in just one swipe. The formula, which is delivered via a built-in brush, is infused with jojoba and anti-oxidant vitamin E that keeps your lips nourished. The colors, which are meant to celebrate the excitement of the disco era, are also resistant to feathering and fading and have no stickiness whatsoever. The high-shine formula is available in six shades, which range from a bare, shimmering nude to a deep, screen siren red. Whichever you choose, you’re sure to cause a scene.
$24 each, available soon at Barneys New York.
