When it was announced that New York sociality, ex-reality television star and current street style star Olivia Palermo would be anointed the new creative director for under-the-radar nail polish line Ciaté, we were prepared for a few changes. Well, the first collection under her leadership is out with the debut Olivia Palermo for Ciaté Collection ($24 each) and we’re happy to report that Palermo’s first outing is pretty and polished.
While it isn’t breaking any boundaries or offering up anything completely new, the trio of shades are a range that women everywhere — whether they’re fans of Palermo or not — will actually use. From a wear-everywhere red for pin-ups in training or everyday vamps to a perfect nude and a summer-ready coral, the three shades are everything you need for everyday life. Sure, there’s no gold sparkles or ultra-trendy mint hues, but let those flash-in-the-pan colors have their time in the spotlight, because these three shades are here to last through all the trends coming in the foreseeable future (and beyond, really). Palermo also remixed the packaging, with the addition of a little gold and eschewing the line’s signature satin bow. But the formula is the same one you’ve grown to love, complete with Ciaté’s Polymer Mesh Lock Technology, which is specially developed to create long-lasting, durable, high-shine nails. Perfectly put together and made to last? It doesn’t get better than that.
