Get It Now: Tatcha’s Deep Cleanse

Tatcha The Deep Cleanse

Tatcha The Deep Cleanse

It seems like a lifetime ago, but Tatcha was at the forefront of oil cleansing back when the brand launched. Seemingly counterintuitive, the Cali-based brand started a revolution when it introduced the age-old face-washing method to the masses. But not everyone got on board with the dry-face and massage ritual. So, Tatcha is expanding the line with a brand-new cleanser that has just as much heritage, but none of the fuss. The Tatcha The Deep Cleanse ($38) will still get your skin clean and refreshed, but it’s an easy-to-use wonder.

The Deep Cleanse is packed with just as much history as its oil-based sister. Though it’s oil-free, Tatcha’s new cleanser uses amino acids derived from silk and water pulled from the luffa fruit to gently exfoliate while you wash off the day’s makeup, dirt, and grime. Perfect for all skin types, this more familiar formula foams up and leaves faces soft and supple, never stripped. That’s thanks to Japanese wild rose and leopard lily, which work in tandem to make sure that oil levels are maintained and pores stay tight and clean.

As for the history that accompanies every Tatcha product? Luffa fruit water has been used since Japan’s Edo period and is actually the inspiration behind today’s loofas. By incorporating the ingredient’s skin-smoothing powers into this easy-to-use formula, it takes luffa water out of the history books and into the modern-day skin-care routine.
