You already know him as the arbiter of Happy Chic, preppy styling and our favorite motto: “Every room needs a dash of hippie and a dollop of socialite.” Indeed, it does, Mr. Adler! But the potter-turned-lifestyle brand that is Jonathan Adler has been expanding his horizons and his company to include more and more products infused with his cheery, irreverent wit. The latest? An exclusive collection with Bloomingdale’s that will bring the designer’s signature pop art to handbags and accessories.
And Bloomingdales is just one of a handful of great collabs. He recently collaborated with Bare Escentuals on an exclusive makeup bag and limited edition compact for the brand’s Bare Minerals line, which is so adorable that we might give up our other makeup for it.
He’s offered one-of-a-kind wares for eBay, has had a special collection of his goods at Barnes & Noble and a collab with Lacoste. But his collection for Bloomingdale’s marks the first time he’s offered his accessories at a department store. While he’s still rolling out his entire collection, shoppers can expect to find the beginnings of a whole lifestyle brand at Bloomingdale’s, including scarves, hats and more.
The collection has just made its debut on the retailer’s Web site, and Adler has put his prints onto wear-everywhere totes and embellished nondescript wallets and belts with a sweet heart motif. In the coming weeks, you’ll find equally cheery printed scarves, contrast-trim visors and more. Expect to find him alongside brands such as Tory Burch, Michael Michael Kors and the like, but rest assured that when it comes to anti-depressive dressing, Adler is the perfect dose!
