Bonobos Teams with Mulo for a Summertime Shoe Collab

Bonobos is known for its quirky take on men’s fashion — the brand started with khakis that featured colorful pocket liners, after all — but it’s not often that the cult-favorite e-tailer teams up with another company. This summer, Bonobos offered up a few of of its standout swim trunk prints to Brit brand Mulo for a capsule collection of espadrilles that beach bums and urban dandies alike will want to snatch up before the siren song of summertime.

The three-piece collection, priced at $200 per pair, includes Bonobos’ Hibiscus, Amazon Jungle and Spiral Disks prints on Mulo’s signature espadrille style.

Tobias Cox, the founder of Mulo, “set out to reinvent the espadrille, whilst respecting its simple charm.”

The new collection is anything but simple, but the Bonobos styles feature the same Japanese linen braids and British waxed cotton as their non-Bonobos counterparts. While we don’t recommend pairing these kicks with their corresponding trunks — which are also available right now — they’re a great way to step into summer on the right foot. Comfortable, built to last (unlike a few other espadrilles we know) and sure to catch some attention, they’re good enough to wear all year. And for the guy who shies away from these tailor-made prints, the shoes are also available in more discreet suede and Mulo’s original waxed cotton, too.

The Mulo x Bonobos collection is available now at www.bonobos.com.
