If you thought that high-low collabs were on their way out, think again — Gap has announced that Kate Spade New York and Jack Spade would be designing special capsule collections for Gap Kids just in time for the holidays. Sound a little strange? Previously, designers such as Diane von Furstenberg and Stella McCartney have teamed with Gap Kids for amazing, sell-out-in-seconds collections, so it makes sense that Gap would be continuing the tradition. And it’s even better news for our petite readers, because if past collections are anything to go by, a Gap Kids XL might just be the perfect fit.

And while a Gap Kids collab isn’t a first for San Francisco-based Gap, Inc., it is a first for Kate Spade New York, who are new to the collab game and new to the world of children’s wear. The brand, which has been adding more and more categories to its offering (we’re already prepping ourselves for a prep-tastic Kate Spade world takeover somewhere around 2019), including paper products, fragrance, watches, shoes, ready-to-wear and more, but this holiday season’s Gap Kids collection will be the very first line of children’s wear from the brand. As for the collection’s details? Gap is keeping things under wraps for now, but expect to find out more from Gap and the Spade siblings closer to the collab’s November release date. We’re hoping for a whole line of apparel and accessories, all with Kate Spade New York’s signature cheeky twist, bright colors and preppy leanings. As for the little guys? We’re keeping our fingers crossed for cameos by Jack Spade’s signature anchor, geometric camo and bandana prints.

Both Kate Spade (when the actual Kate Spade was still at the helm of the brand) and Jack Spade began as accessories companies, but have now expanded to include apparel and more. Today, they both are well on their way to becoming full-fledged lifestyle lines à la Ralph Lauren and Tory Burch. Grown-up girls are sure to try and slip into some of the kid-sized goods, and we don’t blame them, since Stella’s bandmaster jacket was a hit for tikes and fashion plates alike. And let’s face it, a wallet is one-size-fits all, so guys have reason to check out Gap Kids in November.

And the collabs aren’t slowing down, it was also announced that Mary Katrantzou would be lending her digital prints to Adidas and H&M’s latest designer collab would be with downtown favorite Alexander Wang.
