Two of California’s coolest labels are coming together for a collaborative sneaker that’s sure to give guys reason to ditch their go-to shoes. SeaVees, known for its slip-on sneakers and low-profile lace-ups, is teaming with lifestyle brand Taylor Stitch for the Huntington Middie, a surf-inflicted slip-on sneaker-boot hybrid that’s available for preorder now. And seeing as how this is Taylor Stitch’s very first foray into footwear, we think that this wear-everywhere silhouette is not only fitting, but something guys will want to wear.
Using The Workshop, a crowdsourcing platform similar to Kickstarter, Taylor Stitch is taking preorders for this new collab. Shoppers who want the shoe ASAP can put down $88 now and receive their shoes in eight weeks. After the preorder period, the general public will be able to buy the shoe, but the price will go up to $108 and comes with the possibility of a sell-out. That means that sneakerheads and fans of retro kicks need to act fast to get their hands (um, feet?) on this unique Cali collab.
The shoes themselves, named for the 1964 U.S. Surfboard Championships in Huntington Beach, bring together suede uppers in three shades (black, brown and white), with a perforated footbed and SeaVees’ signature rubber herringbone outsole.
