The Altuzarra for Target Collection is all Under $100

Altuzarra for Target

Altuzarra for Target

This fall, there are a slew of designer collaborations that are set to cause mass sartorial hysteria and give you major fashion FOMO. But if you plan your shopping budget carefully and get all the info you need, you might be lucky enough to add each collaboration’s key pieces to your fall rotation. First up is Altuzarra for Target, which continues the mass retailer’s tradition of enlisting fashion’s hottest names for a one-off collaboration. You’ve probably got a few pieces in your closet already from Jason Wu for Target, Proenza Schouler for Target and maybe even the holiday collection that paired Neiman Marcus with Target and included designers such as Marchesa, Rag & Bone and Thom Browne.

Set your alerts for Sept. 14, because that’s the day that Altuzarra for Target’s fashion frenzy is sure to ensue. Joseph Altuzarra is known for his tailored, but feminine creations, which garnered him the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award (in 2011) and the CFDA Swarovski Award for Womenswear Design (in 2012) as well as countless other accolades and the stamp of approval from Carine Roitfeld. His collection for Target is decidedly dressy and his goal was to create a collection that looked expensive and covetable.

“As a designer, I believe firmly in the transformative power of fashion. It has the ability to not only change how you look, but also how you feel,” said Joseph Altuzarra. “I’ve admired the elegance that Target brings to fast fashion. By working together on this capsule collection, we hope to instill a sense of power, confidence and beauty in women everywhere.”

The entire collection is comprised of pieces priced under $100, but the details (engraved buttons, gold embroidery and digital prints) belie the prices. The Altuzarra for Target collection includes apparel and accessories, such as shoes, belts and scarves, as well as a lingerie set and a few choice coats.

“One of the guiding principles of Altuzarra is that fashion can be transformative, changing not just the way you look, but also the way you feel,” said Altuzarra. “By partnering with Target, we hope to bring that experience to a larger audience of women.”

We’ve gathered together our top five pieces — sure to be snapped plenty during this year’s Fashion Month on blogstars and editors alike — that you’ll want to add to your closet. Will we see you online at Target.com and Net-a-Porter Sept. 14 or in store? Let us know, shoppers, because we’ll be right in the trenches with you.
