Victoria Beckham is no stranger to the camera. She’s one of the most photographed women in the entire world and having been stalked by paparazzi since her Posh days, she’s certainly not someone who is unaccustomed to being watched. But she’s taking it to an entirely new place with the announcement that the designer will be teaming with Sykpe for a new project that will cast her into the spotlight again. Together, Beckham and Skype will be producing a documentary that chronicles her life at home and at work, where she juggles a London-based office, New York runway shows and her home base in Los Angeles.
Previously, Beckham dipped her Charlotte Olympia-clad toes into the world of reality television with her one-hour special, Victoria Beckham: Coming to America, which aired in 2007. In addition to the special, she’s had numerous reality television appearances, such as a stint as guest judge on both Project Runway and American Idol as well as a few projects that aired in her native England.
While details are still being released about the designer’s Skype project, we do know that it will involve a five-year commitment from both Beckham and the Microsoft-owned video-chat company. Beckham herself said in 2010 that she spent many nights in her Los Angeles home tethered to her laptop via Skype for meetings with her team in London, where she keeps an office in Battersea. Vogue has reported that the project will also include viewer interaction, so whether that means that Vicky B will be chatting with her fans directly or she’ll be answering fan mail on camera, we’ll all be waiting to see exactly what she has in store.
