Give Your Beauty Routine a Makeover at South Coast Plaza Style

MAC Posh Paradise styled by Nicola FormichettiIf you’re getting ready for the changing season, there’s more to do than to dust off your sweater boxes and pull out your favorite coats. (Sadly, we will be skipping the coat bit here in SoCal.) Fall also means it’s time to put away some summer makeup staples and get ready to add some new beauty finds to your routine (and your makeup bag). South Coast Plaza, which is home to some of the beauty world’s top names, is bringing brands and beauty bloggers together for South Coast Plaza Style, today through October 2nd. Not only will you be getting first dibs with product debuts and exclusive exhibitions, you’ll get face time with some of your favorite beauty bloggers and get your hands on the latest releases from your favorite beauty brands.

The highlight of the event is the premiere of MAC’s Posh Paradise collection and exhibit. Taking center stage at Jewel Court (that’s the center’s stained-glass domed courtyard between Saks Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom right outside Macy’s), the exhibit will be on display all weekend long. It features live, airbrushed models inspired by the fall ad campaign, which was styled by Nicola Formichetti, Lady Gaga’s stylist and the guy behind label Thierry Mugler.

MAC Pro artists will be on hand in droves to help you try out the new hues, which are definitely on-trend for fall. And be one of the first to get MAC’s colored Paint Pots, which make a great eyeshadow base or cream shadow on their own, nail lacquers like Rain of Flowers, which has sold out time and again, and Matenne lipsticks.

Bare Escentuals Ready Eye Shadows

Get some face time from your favorite bloggers as they make appearances at the center’s beauty stops. Meet the brains and beauty behind Queen of Blending, We Heart This, The Makeup Blogger, My Beauty Bunny, The Recessionista, The Arriviste, Nadine Jolie and, indeed, Fashion Trends Daily as well. We’ll all be there for meet-and-greets, photo opportunities and to talk about favorite fall picks. We hope you’ll stop in to see us at Origins, Level 2 at Carousel Court!

Other stores getting in on the action include Bare Escentuals, which will debut their line of Ready eyeshadows. A first for the brand, the pressed shadows boast solid mineral technology and are available in duos and quads. The store will be offering gifts with purchase and complimentary “make-unders.”

Over at Aveda, you can get complimentary hair styling and at the Aveda Richard-Michael salon, stop by for a skincare consultation and Aveda Hand Relief cream.

For fragrance fanatics (that’d be us) Bulgari will be sampling their best as well as highlighting their skincare range with complimentary consultations.

Origins Top 10

On Sunday, Makeup For Ever will be hosting a workshop before the doors to the shopping center even open. From 9:30 am – 10:00 am, you’ll have the chance to learn some tips and tricks from one of their master makeup artists.

At Origins, the brand will be highlighting their Top 10 products. Try them out during a mini-facial or makeup application and get deluxe samples. Don’t forget to come by and meet the Fashion Trends Daily team! With the purchase of any Top 10 item, receieve three free deluxe samples and with any mini-facial, you’ll get samples of everything that the Origins chooses for your specific skin concerns. Our resident editor-in-chief, Michelle, loves the GinZing eye cream (it was a Fashion Week must-have) and Clear Improvement, the brand’s detoxifying charcoal masque, is my travel companion (along with sudoku) whether I’m going cross country or intercontinental.

Sephora will have straight-from-the-runway Dior looks, but just because they’re couture doesn’t mean you can’t create them yourself. Choose from Trend Setter, Style Empress or Backstage Addict, and get a lesson in how to create the looks along with your Dior goodies to take home.

It’s a Face Odyssey at Saks Fifth Avenue, and they’re inviting you to try a whole galaxy of advanced skincare formulations. Spend $100 and you’ll get a metallic tote (tote-ally on trend for fall). We recommend one of the Chanel’s new metallic cream shadows, which will give you a smoky eye in one easy step. While you’re there, don’t forget to pay a visit to the lovely ladies of We Heart This for their picks on the latest gadgets and gizmos available at the luxe department store.

Last but not least, if you’re beauty purchases happen to total $500 (we promise not to tell), you will receive a complimentary, chic tote bag from South Coast Plaza. Take your receipts to concierge.

With more appearances and in-store events happening throughout South Coast Plaza, it’s a weekend of beauty, pampering and new discoveries for seasoned beauty junkies and everyday fans of makeup alike. It’s a jungle out there, and that’s just how we like it!
