Television host, reality star and all-around personality Maria Menounos is usually seen hosting events and Extra, but she found some time in her surely packed schedule to head to Vegas and attend Big Knockout Boxing’s first bout. But it wasn’t just the slew of celebs that were in attendance, one of the most attention-grabbing attendees were Menounos’ harem pants, which had its fair share of fashion fans and detractors. We love this season’s playful pant, so whether you’ve been feeling easy breezy in flowy pants or sporty chic in joggers — which are still going strong, by the way — harem pants are something that everyone can experiment with.

Menounos kept her outfit simple, pairing the statement-making pants with a clean white tank and bold necklace, which is the most surefire way to pull off something that might be outside of your comfort zone. But if you’ve got the guts and want the fashion glory, add a bold shoe just like Menounos did and you’re sure to be a sartorial champion. Cage booties might seem a little too delicate for a rough-and-tumble event such as a boxing match, but it adds just the right amount of feminine mystique to Menounos’ masculine outfit. All in all, we think that pulling a few style cues from the hostess might just earn you a championship belt.

Drop crotched harem pants might seem like something you only see on celebs and in fashion editorials, but the truth is, they’re easy to wear and just about as comfortable as your favorite pair of pajama bottoms. If you’ve experimented with joggers and flowy pants, then you should have no problem navigating this daring pant silhouette. The Topshop Wrap Detail Track Pants ($60) does away with anything extra (pockets and the like) and gives you a basic black iteration of harem pants that you can wear with anything. Plus, the shape is a little more streamlined that what Menounos opted for, so you won’t have to worry about unflattering angles. Try them with your sexiest, tallest shoes to make a big after-hours statement and if you’re just running around on your daily grind, they look just as good with flat gladiators.

1. Sure you’ve got a closet full of basic tanks, but just consider the James Perse High Gauge Slub Cotton-Jersey Tank ($75). Made of super soft cotton and more substantial than anything you’ve been wearing (and washing over and over), it’s a workhorse worth the investment.

2. Knock out the competition with the Baublebar Midas Chain Bib ($38), it’s a championship belt you can wear every day.

3. An intricate shoe like the Via Spiga Elenora High Heel ($275) dresses up just about everything, even the most casual outfits. Try them with your boyfriend jeans and your LBDs, because they’ll work either way.

4. And just because you’ve got a photocall to attend doesn’t mean you don’t need to carry your essentials. The Rebecca Minkoff Moby Clutch ($206.50) is big enough for your daily necessities and more and for nighttime or more formal occasions, the strap comes right off.
