If you haven’t already been pouring over your anvil-sized September issues of Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Lucky and the like, you can gather clues about trends for the fall season from today’s red-carpet looks at the Emmys. And for fall’s killer color, Fashion Trends Daily is pointing the finger straight at Mrs. Plum. Dramatic shades of purple, from regal jewel tones to deep plums and lavenders, were splattered all over the red carpet, many in one-shouldered styles — another huge look at this year’s awards.
Whodunit right?
Emmy winner Jane Lynch stayed close to home with a one-shoulder, deep purple gown designed by L.A.-based designer Ali Rahimi for Mon Atelier located on La Brea Avenue.
Emily Deschanel rocked a beautifully textured plum number by Max Azria Atelier. Yes, yes, we know that she will get grief from critics who don’t like the pleats, but we think the gown is stunning. Pleats, please.
“Mad Men” starlet Christina Hendricks chose a dusky lavender Zac Posen gown adorned with marabou feathers, proving that one of fall’s hottest embellishments is not just for Mrs. Roper-style negligees and bedroom slippers!
