Fashion’s Island Fever Brings Hawaiian Print to the Runway

Breezy, Hawaiian prints blew into New York fashion week with tropical prints taking center stage at Altuzarra, where it was shown on everything from blouses to dresses. Design darling Proenza Schouler showed looks done entirely in the print (though the palette was a little more subdued), and to counter the day-glo hair he sent down the runway, designer Thakoon Panichgul used a bold, ’70s-inspired print of tropical foliage on ladylike shirt dresses. While we probably wouldn’t pair the look with his cowboy hats, we can definitely see ourselves embracing this easy, breezy trend for lazy Sundays and resort-hopping alike.
