Petit Bateau Sails Into Beverly Hills

I live for moments of fashion kismet. I was in Paris last month hunting through famed concept boutique Colette, being tugged out by my daughter and husband who had had their fashion fill. I had every intention of hopping back on the metro, really I did, when what should I find around the corner but the Petit Bateau boutique. The Parisian brand, famous for its yummy, effortlessly chic cotton staples beloved by adults and kids alike (my daughter wore their onesies when she was just a wee thing), was on my hit list after reading in French Marie-Claire that they would be debuting a collaboration with Japanese designer TsumoriTsumori Chisato for Petit Bateau available in stores in December

Alas, it turned out that the Chisato pieces would not be in stores until December, but what should I find upon returning to L.A.? A Petit Bateau boutique under construction on the corner of Bedford & Brighton in Beverly Hills!

According to the Petit Bateau U.S. spokesperson, the boutique was set to open today. However at 6 pm tonight the staff in there was still hard at work stocking and tagging. So Fashion Trends Daily is officially on PB watch now.

This will be the fifth U.S. store for Petit Bateau and the first West Coast outpost. The Parisian brand, which got its start in 1918 making ultra-comfy underwear, will stock everything from swimwear to onesies, their original iconic T-shirt to smocked sun dresses, bras and undies, hoodies and more.
