Raquel Allegra isn’t one to change things up very often. Why would she, when her customers know that she’s a go-to for California-tinged gauzy shirts; easy, flowing tops; and dresses that make a statement without being fussy? For fall, she continued in the same vein, offering up a selection that her die-hard fan base is sure to love, but also attract the attention of anyone looking for a bit of festival flair long after Coachella is out of mind.
“I get to my fall feeling in layers,” Allegra told Vogue. “They’re not heavy layers, but when worn together they feel cozy.”
The fall collection includes a few touches from the American Southwest. Thanks to a road trip to Taos, there were plenty of earthy shades and handcrafted touches. Silhouettes were long and a car coat stole the spotlight thanks to its ease and bold tie-dye color. That artisanal touch is an Allegra standby, so it made sense for many of the pieces to feature orange, coral, and pink tie-dye.

Terra-cotta, dusty shades, and bold, saturated oranges were all present and accounted for, which didn’t just bring to mind the desert, but also another muse: Millicent Rogers. A travel-savvy woman herself, her DNA was felt throughout the easily packable picks and wear-everywhere shapes. Going from plane to train to automobile right to a drum circle or drinks will be no problem for Allegra loyalists.
Ease was the biggest theme, as was a worldly mishmash that made for a collection that looked like it took a lifetime to amass. Thankfully for shoppers, it won’t take a passport full of stamps to look like a world traveler. Instead, it’ll just take one shopping trip. Thanks to Allegra’s thoughtful eye, a few pieces will make for an authentic feeling outfit that’ll fulfill everyone’s Eat Pray Love fantasies.
