They’ve done it once and they’re out to do it all over again. Los Angeles-based Pam & Gela, the label launched a year ago by Juicy Couture alumnae Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor, has launched e-commerce, offering up their entire line in one place for the very first time.

Currently, the line is available in brick-and-mortar locations such as Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus, but the designing duo see e-retail as the largest store there is, bringing their statement furs, slouchy track pants and Cali-cool basics to the entire world. Skaist-Levy and Nash-Taylor feel that building the brand out slowly is the key to creating a line that’s not only true to their own vision, but also something that customers can approach. Juicy Couture, which also started out exclusively through department stores and specialty retailers, soon boomed into a huge lifestyle collection that featured standalone stores.

“I think you do need all three [selling channels]. I think there’s a place for all three,” Skaist-Levy told WWD. “I think there needs to be a place where you have your flagship brick-and-mortar, where you walk in and are blown away, and then it’s good to be in the majors, too. So you just have a lot of exposure.”

The ladies plan on opening a brick-and-mortar flagship as soon as 2016, but are cautious to avoid the overexposure and brand saturation that they gained with Juicy Couture. Instead, they’ve focused their line as well as their retail strategy to include special stores and special pieces, such as leather jackets, that keep customers coming back. The e-tail boutique carries the entire breadth of the line’s offerings, including specialty leather pieces and the brand’s modern take on track pants along with t-shirts, knits and more starting at $140 and reaching upwards to $990. The pair’s book, The Glitter Plan, is also available for purchase.

We believe that you walk before you run,” Nash-Taylor said. “Just like we want to open retail at some point in a small, realistic way. Because we come from a very, very big business, to be small again is a luxury. It’s so fun, but we also want to do it right.”
