Bag ladies and style bloggers alike can rejoice while Angelenos breathe a collective sigh of relief: the Ed Hardy store (and eyesore) on Melrose Avenue is going to be replaced by the area’s very first (official) Rebecca Minkoff boutique. The designer, who stated that she was planning on opening up three standalone shops in the upcoming year, announced the location of her L.A. shop last week.

The obnoxious Ed Hardy General Store at 8335 Melrose Avenue will be replaced in the coming months with Minkoff’s retail concept, which will bring together all of the brand’s offerings under one roof. No longer will you have to trek through Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom to find the designer’s shoes, bags and ready-to-wear. Instead, you can shop easy while browsing handbags, ready-to-wear, denim, shoes, jewelry, small leather goods and accessories. The new store will replace the currently open temporary Rebecca Minkoff location that has set up shop inside of the former Confederacy space, so if you’ve been a sample sale devotee, we recommend you count your blessings — and your MABs and MACs — because soon, that spot is dunzo.

The Los Angeles store will join Minkoff’s soon-to-be-open SoHo boutique in New York, which is currently a pop-up shop highlighting the designer’s denim offerings. San Francisco is also getting in on Minkoff’s retail boom, with the opening of a store at 2124 Fillmore Street in November.
