This fall, one of the biggest names in retail is heading to California. The Webster, a Florida-based boutique that’s known for stocking emerging designers as well as high-fashion labels and under-the-radar cult favorites, is coming to South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA. The 4,000-square-foot shop will be the store’s very first foray into West Coast retail.

The Webster currently has two locations in Florida, one in Bal Harbour and the store’s original location in Miami; as well as a newer store in Houston at a newly expanded wing of the Galleria.

Laure Heriard Dubreuil, The Webster’s cofounder and chief executive officer, told WWD that expanding into California was the next logical step the business: “There’s a lot happening in California these days,” she said. “There’s a big migration from New York and the East Coast, with a lot of influencers and artists moving to the West Coast.”

The South Coast Plaza store will retain the look and feel of existing stores, featuring the Webster’s signature wallpaper, minty marble flooring and more. The store will also custom and vintage furniture from Milo Baughman, Jansen, Karl Springer and Kazuhide Takahama.

Scheduled to open this fall, the store will carry the Webster’s unique mix of designers, which include Acne, Alexander Wang, Aurélie Bidermann, Balmain, Dior, Edie Parker, Galvan, Givenchy, Maison Michel, Mark Cross, Pierre Hardy, Proenza Schouler, Loewe, Olympia Le-Tan, Raf Simons, Stella McCartney, Thom Browne and Valentino, though you can expect a tight edit, since South Coast Plaza’s mix currently features many of the same high-end labels. Dubreuil alread yhas exclusives from Edie Parker, Galvan and Les Bonbons planned, so the Orange County location already has some one-of-a-kind pieces to look forward to.

Shoppers may already be familiar with the ethos of The Webster, thanks to a collaboration with Target in 2012. That collection, which included womenswear, mens’ clothing, accessories and more, gave shoppers everywhere a peek into the playful, Technicolor world of the Webster.
