Goop Pops Into Nordstrom In L.A. & OC

After successful pop-up shops at the Brentwood Country Mart, Gwyneth Paltrow is taking goop to Nordstrom stores across the country. Paltrow’s lifestyle brand is the latest pop-in at the department store, holding court at locations in Washington, Texas, Chicago, Vancouver, Toronto, and two locations in California: L.A.’s the Grove and Orange County’s South Coast Plaza. The special curated shops will be open until June 25 — but for those who can’t make it to one these special pop-ins, everything’s available online, too.

The idea is for goop’s in-house label of skincare, cookbooks, apparel, accessories and home goods to sit alongside Paltrow’s favorite brands, bringing her newsletter and online shop to people who want to touch and feel the goods before the plop down their hard-earned dollars. But the setting is just as important as the product, because the shops pulled pieces from one of Paltrow’s favorite resale sites, 1stdibs, to create intimate and welcoming spaces for customers.

“The vision was to manifest ourselves as a jewel box perched in the middle of a larger retail ecosystem,” goop Creative Director Brittany Pattner told Architectural Digest. “When we take the brand offline, we want the opportunity to welcome them into our home and into our family. Through 1stdibs, we were able to curate an assortment of beautiful, mostly vintage pieces to channel the layered sensibility and inspiring authenticity of the goop brand.”

With a focus on wellness, the goop pop-ins will include plenty of supplements and Moon Juice dusts along with a bag of charged crystals that GP is labeling as a goop medicine bag ($85). For more standard options, look for bkr bottles and matcha with activewear and more. For those focused on culinary endeavors, there is a high-end vegetable spiralizer, Staub cookware, and a special set of knives from Zwilling J.A. Henckels made just for goop.

And what if you’re shopping for someone who has everything? Naturally, she of jade vagina eggs and gold dildos has you covered with singing bowls, kombucha brewing kits, and stoneware rice cookers. Goop’s skincare line, made in collaboration with Juice Beauty, will certainly be a big draw, but we expect the fragrance and candles to sell out, too.

Architectural Digest adds that Paltrow and Pattner took every detail into consideration, from the display fixtures to the Fromental wallpaper. “Goop is such a personal brand, not just for us as employees, but for our readers, many of whom have been in the kitchen with Gwyneth since day one,” Pattner told AD. “When we take the brand offline, we want the opportunity to welcome them into our home and into our family.”
