Foodies, rejoice! Mario Batali’s New York institution Eataly has finally confirmed its first West Coast location. Westfield Century City, which is currently undergoing a $800 million renovation, will be home to Batali’s gastro haven. Currently on schedule to open in 2017, L.A.’s Eataly will join a new Nordstrom location (poached from the Westside Pavilion) and a brand new Macy’s.

“Combining Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, and Eataly within one sophisticated location is a major milestone,” said Greg Miles, Westfield U.S.’s Chief Operating Officer. “It perfectly accords with our conviction that Century City become not only the unquestioned epicenter of style on the westside of Los Angeles, but also take its place as Westfield’s next iconic destination that completely revolutionizes the modern shopping experience.”

The L.A. location marks the third spot for Eataly, which has an outpost in New York as well as a second in Chicago. Both locations are known for offering up the best food finds from Italy and include one-of-a-kind experiences such as Nutella tasting bars, specialty olive oils, rare cured meats and plenty of eye candy and Instagram-ready photo ops. The Century City location will also play host to a rooftop a rooftop birreria bar and luxe lounge (in addition to 360-degree panoramic city views). Trust us, you won’t find that in New York or Chicago.

The news of Eataly’s Century City opening puts to rest months — years, even — of speculation that Batali would bring his shopping/dining hybrid concept to L.A.’s Beverly Center or other locations in our fair city. Now that there is a clear opening date and location, all Angelenos have to do is brace themselves for those long lines at the Nutella bar.
