Sugarfina Might be Expanding to San Francisco

If Instagram is to be believed, Los Angeles-based Sugarfina is expanding up north. The sweet shop’s founders, Rosie O’Neill and Josh Resnick, commened on the image sharing social media network that this upcoming spring in San Francisco would be sweet, perhaps confirming rumors that the store would head up to the city. This comes after the brand’s holiday pop-up shop in Orange County at luxury shopping destination South Coast Plaza.

Adding fuel to the rumors is Marmalade, a boutique on Union Street that was dropping clues on Facebook that a certain Real Housewives of Beverly Hills filming spot would be its new neighbor. It seems that social media sleuthing is the biggest trend so far in 2015, because adding it all up, we’d surmise that Sugarfina is set to open in the former Pavillion de Paris spot at 1837 Union Street in the Cow Hollow neighborhood of the city. San Francisco’s sweet set is sure to be seduced by the selection of candy alongside curated offerings from brands such as Rifle Paper Co. and more.

So San Franciscans can rejoice, because sooner than later, those clear cubes and worldly candy (O’Neill and Resnick scour the globe for the store’s one-of-a-kind selection) are going to be available to sweeten up any occasion. And with a celeb fan base that includes Sharon Osbourne, the aforementioned Real Housewives and more, it seems like the city’s foodies and design divas alike are going to be in good company.

UPDATE: Sugarfina has confirmed two openings set for San Francisco. The first location is scheduled to open on May 1 in Union Square at 272 Sutter Street. A second will open in Cow Hollow at 1837 Union Street on May 15.
