San Francisco’s Myles Gives Guys Smarter Shorts

Ladies can get away with lounging in their Lulus long after their last savasana, but for guys, gym wear is usually more for action than off-duty. The usual gym going guy is outfitted in clothes that are designed by huge footwear brands, such as Nike or Adidas, which doesn’t work as well outside of the gym. Meeting up for coffee after a hard workout? Guys might not want to wear their compression pants or baggy basketball shorts after the gym, especially if they’ve been breaking a sweat. San Francisco-based Myles is out to change that with their new line of shorts, which look just as good in the gym as they do on the streets.

Started by the guys that brought you Taylor Stitch, the label that brought San Francisco — and the rest of the world — the perfect button-up and Huckberry, the online shop that’s curating outdoor clothing and gear for guys, Myles is a new line of shorts designed for the rigors of your reps in the gym and still look great when you’ve cooled down and want to just hang out.

Co-creator Michael Maher wanted to create athletic shorts that eschewed the baggy, long messy look that is so common in the market and instead, offer up an option that combines both tailoring and technical fabric. The American-made shorts are lightweight and built so that you won’t be too constricted in the gym. They’re also tailored enough so that you could pair them with regular clothes, not just old t-shirts and tank tops at the weight bench. The shorts are made of a four-way stretch water repellent fabric, include mesh pockets that are designed to stay put, not flop around when you’ve got your keys inside and are available in two lengths. Best of all, there are no garish logos and the shorts are offered in a neon-free range of great basic colors.

Order now and you’ll get $10 off thanks to Myles’ pre-sale offer (orders ship in October). Myles shorts are available at www.mylesapparel.com.
