Fans of fast fashion have been waiting with bated breath for the very first Uniqlo to open in Southern California. But because the brand knows that SoCal shoppers have been chomping at the bit to get their hands on Uniqlo’s signature style, the Japanese retailer is giving us all just a little taste of what’s to come with a few pop-up shops before a trio of permanent stores open this fall. The summer shops are set up to sate your hunger for Uniqlo’s blend of trend-driven pieces and work staples as well as give those unfamiliar with the brand’s signature offerings a chance to get acquainted.
The first of the three pop-up shops lands at South Coast Plaza on July 3 and the second at Santa Monica Place on July 22. Finally, a third shop will land at Beverly Center on July 31. All three shops are set to stay open throughout the summer, which is perfect for picking up the brand’s warm weather-ready Supima cotton tees and tanks (which will ring up at just $12.90) and chino shorts that are sure to have all the guys ready for rising temps (and at just $19.90, stocking up isn’t going to break the bank). There will be a focus on AIRism, Uniqlo’s unique sweat-wicking undergarments as well as premium denim, which is pretty much perfect for the L.A. fashion fans. Uniqlo has also created a special online microsite, and they’ll be using the platform to promote the new pop-ups with opening updates, videos with local tastemakers even a Twitter contest.
The pop-ups will lead up to a slew of grand openings, which are set for the fall through next spring. The opening dates for the permanent Uniqlo Southern California locations are:
- South Coast Plaza – Sept. 5
- Glendale Galleria and Northridge Fashion Center – Sept. 26
- Beverly Center – Oct. 10
- Los Cerritos Center – Spring 2015
