Designers Head to the Beach With Hamptons Pop-Ups

The Hamptons has always been a getaway for New Yorkers during the summer — they get Summer Fridays, after all — but the breezy seaside hamlet continues to ratchet up the chic quotient even more every summer. And just as a Hamptons sojourn is a tradition for city-dwellers and tourists alike, designers love heading to the shore for summer pop-ups, giving the seaside town a huge concentration of must-visit seasonal shops. C’mon, what’s a beach-bound weekender to do when they forget a little something back in the city or need a last minute gift for dinner with the Barefoot Contessa herself? We’ve picked our favorite pop-ups for your trip, but just remember to get on the jitney before rush hour.

Aerin Lauder’s newly launched lifestyle line, Aerin, has already garnered critical acclaim, but even the most steadfast shoppers couldn’t bear to go from store to store to pick up every bit of the Lauder lifestyle. Now, they don’t. Aerin’s opened her very first shop in Southampton, bringing her beauty range, home goods and more all under one roof. The small bungalow of a shop also features Aerin’s picks, such as Jo de Mer swimwear, Irving & Fine tunics, and Assouline books alongside her rose-scented hand cream, makeup palettes and gilt home accents. But even after the summer crowds disperse, you can still shop Aerin’s stash — she plans on keeping the shop open until after the holidays.

Aerin is located at 83 Main Street, Southampton.

Missoni Home

Missoni Home

Missoni chose the Hamptons as its first stateside location for a dedicated home store, giving beachgoers and beach dwellers a chance to add a major pop to their summer styling. The full range of Missoni home goods — that means upholstery, indoor and outdoor furniture, linens, candles and more — are all available. The store is an explosion of color and pattern (no surprise there), so try to maintain composure as you rifle through the chevrons, florals and Greek keys that festoon the goods. Poufs and pillows have been selling out over and over, so whether you want one to lean on during a poolside read or need something to pep up your pad, this shop will give you what you need to live la dolce vita.

Missoni Home is located at 50 Jobs Lane, Southampton.

C. Wonder East Hampton

C. Wonder East Hampton

C. Wonder, everyone’s favorite shop for just about everything, has not one, but two shops open in the Hamptons. They’ve got their Southampton shop open again, as well as a brand new East Hampton spot, so no matter what part of town you frequent, you can get a dose of C. Wonder’s signature bold colors and wear-everywhere basics. Both spots will be hosting parties and events all summer long, so stop in for DJs, goods from Eleni’s Bakery, candy bars and more. Both shops will be selling swim and summer-focused goods, but we expect everything to run through quick, so snag those Ikat print pillows, neon trimmed cardis and more before they sell out.

C. Wonder is located at 5 Main Street, Southampton and 48 Main Street, East Hampton.

Isaac Mizrahi

Isaac Mizrahi

Isaac Mizrahi is a New York mainstay. He’s part of the old guard when it comes to the fashion set, having showed at NYFW for the past three decades, so we’re glad to see that he’s joining in on the fun in the sun, too. His Southampton shop is an explosion of his signature tea dresses, ladylike basics and more, but it’s filled to the brim with all kinds of other goodies, too. You’ll find apparel, fragrance, footwear, accessories, pet accessories, fine and costume jewelry alongside a capsule collection of limited-edition swimwear, sneakers, jellies, cover-ups and unique  handbags available only at the Southampton pop-up.

Isaac Mizrahi New York is located at 44 Main Street, Southampton.

Milly East Hampton

Milly East Hampton

She’s a city girl at heart, but Milly designer Michelle Smith loves heading to the Hamptons just like everyone else. In fact, she blended Hamptons chic with Palm Springs style for her latest Banana Republic collection. Milly’s Hamptons outpost is out to ensure that even die-hard city folk have what they need to feel comfortable in the city, meaning it’s got a mix of Milly’s basics as well as a wider selection of swim and beachwear under the Milly Cabana label. You’ll also find Milly Minis, the kid’s branch of the Milly brand as well as the brand’s collab with Sperry Top-sider and beach-ready totes from the label’s expanding accessories division.

Milly is located at 54 Main Street, East Hampton.
