Prepare for Balmania 2.0 With the Debut of Pierre Balmain

Balmain, the label beloved by pop stars, paparazzi-loving preeners and fashion editors alike has just debuted its new line, Pierre Balmain, with a presentation at the Paris collections this past Sunday. One look at the sexy, skimpy, embellished looks and you can see why Beyoncé, Demi Moore and Rihanna rely on the brand for high-wattage appearances and shows.

But having one of the highest price points in the world of fashion has meant that not everyone can get their mitts on it. Don’t get us wrong, this is no Target collection here. But with the launch of Pierre Balmain, the label is branching out and giving the fashion obsessed a better chance to engage with the line and indulge their inner rock star.

The women’s and men’s collection is a collaboration between Balmain Paris and Ittiere SpA, but just because the price tags don’t live in the four-digit range doesn’t mean they won’t have high-fashion styling. The animal prints, sleek, tight silhouettes and sex-on-stilettos attitude that are the hallmarks of Balmain all make an appearance in Pierre Balmain, but priced at a more palatable €120 to €650. And for the guys, it’s a downtown haute hipster look with frayed denim, leather accents and ultra-slim fits. To promote the new line, Pierre Balmain enlisted Our Mountain  to provide a soundtrack for the campaign.  In-demand model Abbey Lee Kershaw, real-life girlfriend of Our Mountain frontman Matthew Hutchinson, stars in the video for the womenswear and Hutchinson stars in the menswear version. Shot in New York by Inez & Vinoodh, Kershaw is dressed in the brand’s knitwear, dresses, leathers and more.

Prepare to run into the line next time you go out to browse the racks. They’ll be carried in over 700 spots worldwide and Pierre Balmain boutiques. A global takeover (starting in Milan, Rome and Paris, naturally) is sure to ensue, so prepare yourself for a little rock ‘n roll. Need some inspiration?
